Role Overview – Key Responsibilities:
As the Global Compliance and Legal Strategy Lead, you will spearhead the development, implementation, and management of a robust ethics and compliance framework that aligns with CooperCompanies' compliance objectives and policies. Your role will also encompass global trade compliance matters, particularly focusing on sanctions, while leading and coordinating international projects and initiatives related to Global Legal Operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Formulate, propose, and uphold current policies and practices that enhance compliance across CooperVision, in line with CooperCompanies.
- Collaborate with the Legal team to organize and deliver training sessions on compliance-related topics.
- Partner with various departments and the Legal team to establish compliance monitoring activities.
- Identify critical risk areas and execute risk and compliance mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the engagement and management of external legal counsel to provide guidance on global trade compliance issues, with a specific emphasis on sanctions.
- Aid in the evaluation, execution, and management of internal processes necessary for adherence to global trade compliance regulations, particularly regarding sanctions.
- Lead, support, and coordinate international projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing Global Legal Operations for consistency, efficiency, and shared best practices.
- Implement scalable improvements in legal processes that facilitate business growth while ensuring compliance.
- Oversee and manage various risk and compliance projects as needed.
About You:
You will possess a minimum of 5 years of in-house experience in designing, developing, and executing global ethics and compliance programs. While experience in a legal capacity is beneficial, candidates with a background in risk and compliance roles will also be considered.
Key attributes include a commercial mindset, decisiveness, exceptional organizational skills, and strong project management capabilities.
You will be an outstanding communicator, capable of leading discussions, delivering training, and effectively collaborating in a multicultural environment.
