Focus Group, established in 2003, is recognized as one of the UK's rapidly expanding independent providers of essential business technology, delivering digital workplace solutions to over 30,000 clients nationwide. From our modest yet ambitious beginnings, we have evolved into a national enterprise with over 1000 employees across 16 locations and have recently achieved a valuation of $1bn, joining the ranks of Britain's private company 'unicorns'. Our recent investment from private equity partners will bolster our growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions ambitions, and product development initiatives, enhancing our capacity to provide innovative solutions to businesses of all sizes and sectors.
Are you enthusiastic about compliance processes and regulatory frameworks? Do you find the complexities of data, analytics, and reporting more captivating than the technical aspects? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you.
We are currently seeking a Cybersecurity Compliance Trainee (Level 4).
Focus Group holds accreditations in ISO27001:2022 and Cyber Essentials. Additionally, there are several other regulatory compliance requirements that necessitate significant input from the compliance role. We have also recently invested in an Information Security Management System (ISMS), which serves as the central hub for managing controls, updates, and authorizations.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining all cyber compliance requirements mentioned above, as well as addressing internal and customer inquiries regarding Focus Group's compliance status. This may include supplier forms, tender documents, and general email inquiries. The maintenance of the ISMS is crucial for upholding the compliance of the Group.
Key Responsibilities
This role will evolve as the apprenticeship progresses and will typically involve supporting compliance activities across the Group, including regional offices and some cross-division requirements, to ensure process quality and legality. Typical activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating the extent to which Focus Group complies with UK law and/or relevant audit standards (e.g., GDPR, DPA 2018)
- Collaborating within Focus Group to adhere to relevant legislation and/or meet the requirements of recognized standards (e.g., International Organization for Standardization)
- Providing information, guidance, and advice to stakeholders on how to comply with legislation or meet audit requirements in their division
- Conducting risk assessments and identifying hazards that may lead to non-compliance by Focus Group
- Preparing reports following inspections or audits
- Maintaining ownership and updates to IT and relevant policies and processes
- Overseeing the Focus Group ISMS
- Engaging with key stakeholders to resolve any issues of non-compliance
Qualifications
The regulatory role will establish knowledge and has:
- A strong understanding of defining processes and procedures
- The ability to plan and execute compliance support tasks
- The capability to work to deadlines and motivate others to achieve key objectives
- The skill to clearly request, gather, analyze, and share information tailored to the needs of stakeholders
- The ability to work independently on tasks and projects while remaining engaged with colleagues and stakeholders
- The capability to manage the ISMS while supporting colleagues with assigned tasks
- A people-focused approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problems and requests.
Benefits:
- Regular social events in a welcoming, inclusive environment
- Attractive bonus and incentive schemes
- Pension & Benefits Platform with Exclusive Discounts
At Focus Group, you can take pride in your work, your approach, and feel a genuine part of the team. We strive to create an inclusive, collaborative, and rewarding environment where you are inspired to achieve remarkable things and truly make a difference to the future of our business.
We are proud to have established an outstanding workplace where individuals thrive and are recognized for their accomplishments. We are honored to have been named one of the UK's best 100 Companies to Work for and a recipient of a Vision Award for our commitment to culture and ESG.
We welcome all applications and encourage those who may have difficulty applying online to reach out for assistance. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments to the working environment to ensure all employees are included and can work safely.
