The firm is renowned for assisting high-profile sponsors and mid-market companies with acquisitions, sales, and investment transactions, both domestically and internationally.

The sports law division is recognized as a trusted advisor to some of the most prominent entities in the sports industry. Their clients encompass sports leagues, clubs, franchise owners, organizers of Olympic and global events, national and international governing bodies, stadium developers, investors, financial institutions, and esports organizations.

This team provides comprehensive legal guidance on all facets of organizing major global sporting events, including the structuring of commercial exploitation initiatives, intellectual property protection, stadium development, and addressing sports regulatory and administrative challenges at the highest levels. They possess specialized knowledge in local and international sports media rights, commercial partnership agreements, sponsorship, licensing, and intellectual property matters.

The firm is currently seeking to enhance its London practice by recruiting a senior solicitor with expertise in sports regulation.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Drafting regulations pertaining to membership, gameplay, conduct, and disciplinary actions.
  • Reviewing and updating existing regulations, including those related to anti-doping and disciplinary measures.
  • Providing counsel to governing bodies regarding proposed sanctions against individuals.
  • Advising athletes on issues related to non-selection and qualification.
  • Defending athletes facing disciplinary, doping, and anti-corruption allegations.
  • Consulting with brands on the constraints of activating sponsorship rights as dictated by local and national advertising laws.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned lawyer or partner with a transferable client base. Extensive experience in sports regulatory matters from a reputable legal practice is essential.
