About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Lawyer to join our Sports Regulatory Team as Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs. This is a senior hire with the view of the right candidate being appointed Head of Legal from the outset, however the client will consider on a case by case basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contentious regulatory law, with experience in investigations, financial regulation, and white collar crime. They will be responsible for supporting the Head of Legal and Director within the team on high-profile matters, as well as working autonomously on key projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the investigation of breaches and the process of determining and sanctioning those breaches
  • Assisting with the management of disputes, often by way of arbitration
  • Advising the wider business on all elements of financial rules
  • Ensuring compliance with any changes of control and new investment or the appointment of new directors
  • Domestic and international sports regulation
Requirements
  • E&W Qualified (8PQE+)
  • Trained at recognized City Law firm
  • A self-starter attitude, excellent presentation and communication techniques
  • Experience in one of the following: white collar crime investigations, general litigation or arbitration
  • Competition or banking experience is a bonus
