About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assessing and managing patients with complex conditions, including those with Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, Stroke, Falls, and Osteoporosis.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans to promote independence and rehabilitation.
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of clinical policies and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration.
  • A minimum of 4 years' postgraduate experience, including 2 years working as a Band 6 with patients with complex needs.
  • Experience of working within an Acute Inpatient environment or similar system.
  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills, leadership and management skills, and audit and research skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team and take the lead therapy role.

Desirable Criteria

It would be beneficial if you have:

  • Clinical leadership experience.
  • Involvement in sickness/disciplinary/capability management.
  • Excellent IT skills and presentation skills.

Language

You will need to be able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role.
