Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our rotational scheme across University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a variety of clinical areas, including Acute Care, Older Persons Medicine, Neurotherapy, Rehabilitation, and Paediatrics. As a Rotational Occupational Therapist, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in different settings and work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to establish clear treatment plans and discharge strategies.
  • To communicate sensitively and professionally with patients and their families, taking into account their individual needs and preferences.
  • To participate in ward rounds, team meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to Trust and departmental policies.
  • To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
Person Specification

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who:

  • Is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Has experience working in a multidisciplinary team and applying the Occupational Therapy process.
  • Has used functional assessment and activity analysis in their practice.
  • Is able to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
