About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Facilities and Environmental Officer to join our team at Butterworth Laboratories. As a key member of our Facilities and Environmental team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our analytical chemistry laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Temperature Monitoring and Control: Primary responsibility for sample temperature monitoring devices and associated software, ensuring equipment is working to specification.
  • Facilities Management: Monitor temperature control systems during the working day, provide Laboratory and QA teams with temperature monitoring data for clients and auditors, and administer the Asset Register for Analytical Laboratory Instruments & Equipment.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Support the environmental monitoring of the Facilities, both internally and externally, including Solvent Vapours, Acid Fumes, Noise, Effluent pH, etc.
  • Security and Emergency Response: Provide security training for Out of Hours staff, coordinate their handover process, and respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the Company sites.
  • Delegation and Support: Deputise in the absence of the F&E Manager and provide additional support as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience working in a similar capacity, preferably in a GMP, GLP, GCP, and ISO 17025 compliant environment.
  • Qualifications: Qualification in a technical discipline.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in MS Office, and experience in laboratory-related software.
  • Personal Qualities: Adaptable, with a can-do attitude, able to work autonomously, and demonstrate organisational, problem-solving, and team-working skills.
