Student Success Tutor Role

At GBS Global Applied Knowledge, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Success Tutor to join our team. As a Student Success Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high levels of student retention and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to students, including academic and IT guidance, to ensure their success in their studies.
  • Act as a nominated adviser for a defined group of students, providing a first point of contact for all their queries and concerns.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of student contact, ensuring timely and effective communication with students.
  • Collaborate with academic colleagues to identify and address student engagement issues, referring students to the Retention Team as necessary.
  • Assist with the administration of surveys and the collection of results for analysis by the Planning, Information and Delivery department.
  • Support the Student Welfare team in ensuring student needs are communicated with faculty, particularly for students with personal learning plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 5 years of administrative experience in a busy environment, ideally in Higher Education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong administrative skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook Mail.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, with a strong customer service ethic.
