About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Success Coach to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As a Student Success Coach, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high levels of student retention and satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Student Support and Guidance: Provide comprehensive support and guidance to students, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges.
  • Problem Solving and Pre-emptive Action: Identify and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring students receive timely and effective support.
  • Communication and Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for students, facilitating communication between students and GBS services.
  • Student Welfare and Well-being: Work closely with the Student Welfare team to ensure students' needs are met, and provide guidance on mitigating circumstances and academic processes.
  • Retention and Engagement: Identify and support students at risk of disengagement, referring them to our specialist retention team as needed.
  • Knowledge and Service Delivery: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of GBS services and partner organizations, guiding students in accessing support and resources.
  • Administrative and IT Support: Provide basic administrative and IT support, including navigating learning resources and signposting students to relevant helpdesks.
  • Attendance and Engagement Monitoring: Monitor student attendance and engagement, ensuring timely contact with students who are missing sessions or struggling with coursework.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student contact and engagement, providing regular updates to the Retention Team.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 years of administrative experience in a busy environment, ideally in Higher Education.
  • Service Delivery and Customer Focus: Strong sense of service delivery and customer/student-focused approach, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Administrative and IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Mail, with good attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Ability to work well as part of a team, with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive and personal information with tact and confidentiality.
