Job Title: QC Inspection Role

Location: Newcastle

Contract Duration: 12 months

Working Hours: 12 hours/day shift and 40 hours/week

LanceSoft, Inc. is a leading provider of pipeline production, pre-commissioning, and maintenance services. Our team is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge physical and digital technologies together to create oilfield equipment. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Quality Control Specialist to provide technical support and guidance to our work centers for training process inspectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reporting directly to the Quality Control Supervisor, responding to a wide variety of Quality control related issues.
  • Liaising with functional groups for all Quality Control related activities/problems.
  • Interfacing with Customer/Third Party/certifying authority representatives, as required.
  • Providing technical support/guidance to work centers for training process inspectors.
  • Writing and revising quality control procedures and related forms.
  • Assisting in failure analysis.
  • Performing Receiving Inspection Completion of pipe maps.
  • Administration/sign off/verification of inspections.
  • Verifying dimensional and inspection reports for product conformance.
  • Assuring identification and traceability of product and materials at all stages of manufacturing process.
  • Writing detailed reports as required.
  • Generating Non-compliance reports (NCR's) in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Random verification and audit of inspection activities and laboratory testing to support shift.
  • Performing calibration of measuring and test equipment.
  • Inspecting and approving formed Flexlok and Carcass profile samples.
  • Actively participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Providing Technical support to work centers & projects on Quality Control requirements.
  • Performing any other duties as directed by the Quality Control Supervisor.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • ONC/HNC from an accredited college, university, or trade school, or strong experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment in either or all the following industries: Extrusion, wire and cable, oil and gas or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Pleasant personality with good interpersonal skills (articulate, confident, mature, and able to work as part of a team).
  • Flexible attitude and proactive approach coupled with high quality customer service.
  • Good common sense and the ability to use own initiative in prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to perform under pressure to deadlines without compromising standards.
  • First class organizational skills with particular emphasis on time management and attention to detail.
  • Conscientious, hardworking and willing to perform additional duties to support the Quality team.
  • A team player but someone who is equally comfortable working alone (self-motivated).

Technical Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of ISOAPI Quality Systems, Quality practices and applications, and Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Ability to respond to common enquiries from management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and detailed drawings.
  • Competent on all process inspection activities.
  • Requires working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
  • Knowledge of Goods Receiving Inspection Systems and/or supplier certification is desirable.
  • Receiving Inspection experience is a must, as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft products and the ability to interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Experience of writing detailed reports, e.g. Non-conformance reports would be an advantage.
  • A valid Forklift license.
