Leadership and Management Opportunity in Anaesthesia

This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join the Anaesthetic and Intensive Care teams at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Anaesthetic Fellow with a strong interest in Leadership and Management to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. The role will involve participation in an on-call rota, clinical duties, and leadership and management activities tailored to the individual's interests and needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in an on-call rota, including obstetrics, ICU, and theatre
  • Develop leadership and management skills through participation in meetings and projects
  • Contribute to the operational and strategic management of the Anaesthetic Department and the One NHS Finance programme
  • Develop and implement projects within their sphere of interest
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual with the following skills and experience:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Previous employment in an anaesthetic capacity
  • Primary Medical Degree (MBChB, MBBS or equivalent)
  • Suitable experience for on-call anaesthetic work, including intensive care, obstetrics, and emergency theatre
  • Evidence of teaching at an undergraduate level
  • Interest in leadership and management, with basic understanding of management theory and information technology skills
