Anaesthetic Fellow with an interest in Medical Simulation and Education

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Anaesthetic Fellow to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in medical simulation and education, and will be responsible for developing their career in this field.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in an on-call rota, including obstetrics, ICU, and theatre, on a 1:8 resident basis with a maximum shift duration of 12.5 hours.
- Dedicate the majority of normal working days to simulation activities, tailored to the individual's interests and needs.
- Contribute to simulation and teaching activities within ITAPS, including liaison with other specialties and professional groups.
- Develop and implement projects to improve feedback, simulation training, and novel simulation scenarios to address learning needs.
- Embed interprofessional training and learning, and innovate to address challenges in education delivery.
- Participate in educational research and present findings nationally.
- Full GMC registration.
- Primary Medical Degree (MBChB, MBBS or equivalent).
- Recent previous employment in an anaesthetic capacity, including IAC and IACOC.
- Desirable: FFICM, FRCA/FCARCSI.
- Essential: evidence of participation and leadership in teaching, information technology skills, and presentation skills.
- Desirable: participation in teacher training, management training, leadership skills, and higher qualifications in Medical Education.
- Essential: initial Anaesthetic Competencies (IAC) and Initial Anaesthetic Competencies in Obstetric Anaesthesia (IACOC) sign off, and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certificate dated within the last 4 years.
- Desirable: management of critical incidents in anaesthesia.
