Leadership and Management Anaesthetic Fellow Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join the Anaesthetic and Intensive Care teams at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. We are seeking suitably qualified candidates for the post of Anaesthetic Leadership and Management Fellow.

About the Role

The Anaesthetic Leadership and Management Fellow will participate in an on-call rota, including obstetrics, ICU, and theatre, on a 1:8 resident basis. The majority of normal working days will be dedicated to leadership and management activities, tailored to the individual's interests and needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in on-call rota, including obstetrics, ICU, and theatre
  • Develop leadership and management skills through tailored activities
  • Contribute to the operational and strategic management of the Anaesthetic Department and the One NHS Finance programme
  • Undertake projects, determined by the fellow's interests and the department's needs, which may involve liaison with other specialties and professional groups
Person Specification

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Hold full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Have previous employment in an anaesthetic capacity
  • Hold a Primary Medical Degree (MBChB, MBBS or equivalent)

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • FRCA/FCARCSI /FICM
  • Suitable experience for on-call anaesthetic work, including intensive care, obstetrics, and emergency theatre
  • Evidence of teaching at an undergraduate level
  • Interest in leadership and management, with a basic understanding of management theory and information technology skills
