About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join the Anaesthetic and Intensive Care teams at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Anaesthetic Fellow with an interest in Leadership and Management to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in an on-call rota, including obstetrics, ICU, and theatre, on a 1:8 resident basis with a maximum shift duration of 12.5 hours.
  • Contribute to leadership and management activities, tailored to the individual, with the majority of normal working days dedicated to these activities.
  • Take on various projects, determined by the fellow's interests and the department's needs, and contribute to the operational and strategic management of the Anaesthetic Department and the One NHS Finance programme.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Previous employment in an anaesthetic capacity.
  • Primary Medical Degree (MBChB, MBBS or equivalent).
  • Suitable experience for on-call anaesthetic work, including intensive care, obstetrics, and emergency theatre.
  • Evidence of teaching at an undergraduate level.
  • Interest in leadership and management, with a basic understanding of management theory and information technology skills.
