Job Summary

Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Housing Specialist Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice and support to clients who are vulnerable and in need of housing assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial triage assessments to identify support and housing needs for clients with complex needs.
  • Provide person-centered information, advice, guidance, intervention, assessment, assistance, and practical support services to residents, empowering them to make informed choices about their housing needs.
  • Promote a housing options approach to service delivery by offering advice, information, and assistance.
  • Prevent and resolve homelessness/housing issues through joint working with other departments and agencies.
  • Triage, conduct initial assessments, and assess needs for customers, determining whether they are likely to be homeless or threatened with homelessness and referring cases to the relevant team for specialist prevention/relief work.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the support needs of various cohorts, including mental health, substance misuse, offending, learning disabilities, physical health, education, employment, and training.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, such as the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 as amended.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Requirements
  • Good knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 (as amended).
  • Knowledge of the housing options approach to homelessness prevention.
  • Experience working with vulnerable customers within a local authority setting.
  • Knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable adults in housing need.
Contract Details
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (2-3 days working from the office).
  • PAYE via Umbrella.
  • Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract.
