About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join our Royal Mail Fleet team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of cultural change and be accountable for the performance of our workshops in your area.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure compliance with legal and safety policies, meeting safety targets and delivering maintenance services in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
  2. Optimise the efficiency of Fleet Workshops to meet industry standard performance levels and deploy changes relating to Fleet Workshops.
  3. Effectively engage, communicate, and coach to support and develop the Fleet Workshop team.
  4. Be accountable for the achievement of all agreed targets, including internal Customer targets with SLAs through the use of effective performance management techniques.
  5. Actively deploy, manage, and support the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standard within Fleet Workshops and support Continuous Improvement activity within the Workshops.
  6. Effectively manage the local IR interface, working collaboratively with union colleagues to deliver change.
  7. You will also be responsible for any mobile sites and sub-locations under the control of the Workshop and/or Cluster.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and qualified individual with a strong background in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair, and a proven track record of leading and developing teams. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
