About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated Early Intervention Support Worker to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families within Barking and Dagenham. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment across our Family Hubs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based early intervention services to children aged birth to 5 years, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • Collaborate closely with parents/carers and other professionals to promote well-being and support children's development.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver engaging sessions for parents and carers, equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the success of our Start for Life and Family Hub program by promoting its services and engaging with families across the borough.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues from various stakeholders and services to meet the diverse needs of the children involved.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in child development or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to becoming accredited in 'Peeple' and 'Solihull' programs within the first three months.
  • Understanding of the impact of poverty, cultural differences, and isolation on families with young children.
  • Experience delivering early intervention and prevention projects or community programs with vulnerable communities.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage principles and their application in supporting child development.
  • Ability to design creative sessions that engage parents and carers while teaching them essential skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new IT systems.
  • Clear understanding of GDPR and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure appropriate data handling.
