About the Role

Family Action is seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team in providing early intervention mental health support to young people aged 11-25 years old. As a Counsellor for Children and Young People, you will work closely with our team of dedicated Youth Support Workers to deliver high-quality counselling services to young people in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 counselling and early intervention mental health support to young people aged 11-25 years old.
  • Collaborate with the Hackney Super Youth Hub and other stakeholders in the London Borough of Hackney to support young people and liaise with appropriate professionals.
  • Have an active interest in working with young people affected by mental health issues and recognize the impact it has on their life.
  • Maintain confidential, up-to-date, and accurate records of all sessions and plans.
  • Use outcome tools to measure and monitor client well-being, assess ongoing risk, promote safety, collate data, and welcome service feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with Family Action's procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Participate in regular management supervision, team meetings, appraisals, and clinical supervision sessions.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of the service and report to commissioners and fundraisers.
