Devon County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our out-of-hours service, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to individuals in need.

Job Summary

We are looking for a registered qualified professional with a Post-Grad Certificate in Mental Health to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of complex and specialist legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and Children Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake MHA assessments independently
  • Work in multi-disciplinary settings
  • Manage risks and safeguarding

About the Role

The post holder will work an 8-week rolling rota, incorporating two consecutive weeks off work each rota cycle. The shift pattern includes working weekday evenings, weekend, and Bank Holiday evening, day, and night shifts.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a valid driving licence and experience of working independently. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a proven ability to work independently as a senior practitioner managing risks and safeguarding.
