Job Title: Head of Department English

Teaching Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Secondary English Teacher to lead our team in the Farnborough Area. As Head of Department English, you will be responsible for teaching all elements of English, including marking and planning sessions for students. This role also involves strategic oversight of the English curriculum, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English to students in a mixed MLD Secondary school setting.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans to engage students and promote academic achievement.
  • Mark and assess student work to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Lead the English department, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive curriculum.
  • Monitor student progress and attainment, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to raise student attainment and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in English or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of teaching English in a Secondary school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
