Residential Childcare Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Spark of Genius, a leading provider of residential childcare services in Scotland.
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with complex needs. You will work as part of a dedicated team to promote the social, emotional, and educational well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Work in a positive, respectful, and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and encourage achievements.
- Participate in and encourage the participation of young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
- Write review reports, risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
- Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of young people are respected and promoted.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A good understanding of the developmental needs and milestones of young people.
- Experience of working with children and families.
- A driving license.
- The ability to communicate, engage, and form positive relationships with young people, parents, and other professionals.
- The ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records of good standard and verbally present information and views.
- The ability to challenge individuals where necessary, remain calm, and objective in difficult situations.
- An HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care, or equivalent qualification, or the ability to undertake these qualifications.

Due to the nature of the role, it will be necessary for all Residential Childcare Workers to be subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and achieve membership of the scheme prior to commencing work with us. CareTech will cover the cost of this check.
