Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

Captec is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our Technical Services Team in Fareham. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing small to medium-sized products across various sectors, including marine, defence, energy, healthcare, and transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for industrial, mobile, and rugged computers and 19" racks and associated fittings.
  • Develop electrical design solutions for specific project requirements.
  • Prepare and present design reviews, prototype builds, and support design verification testing.
  • Collaborate with NPI engineers on knowledge transfer and design transfer to production.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure transfer of knowledge and best practice in the implementation and use of their products or components.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related qualification.
  • Significant experience in an engineering department working on the design of electrical aspects of multiple projects of moderate and major size.
  • Experience of designing AC and DC systems to a variety of compliance standards.
  • Experience with electrical drawing software, preferably SolidWorks Electrical or similar.
  • Experience of working on military or aerospace projects, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Security clearance will be required (UK National).
