About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Smart Grid Integration Specialist. As a key member of our Smart Grid team, you will be responsible for leading the technical integration of suitable flexible assets into our Ecotricity Smart Grid VPP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integration and Onboarding of Assets
    • Establish EcoLink connections for asset integration
    • Specify and instruct development of new capabilities for our EcoLink device
  • Procurement and Contract Negotiation
    • Identify and assist in contract negotiations for procurement of necessary technologies
  • Liaison and Collaboration
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders from planning, construction, and operations teams
    • Assess interface requirements of new Grid services
  • Technical Expertise
    • Understand technical requirements of National Grid ancillary services
    • Advise on and develop methods of control and monitoring to deliver services
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise
    • Technical understanding of renewable technologies, particularly energy storage
    • Ability to read and understand site Single Line Diagrams
    • Understanding of IT communication methods, e.g. MODBUS or MQTT
    • Understanding of power system terminology, e.g. reactive power, frequency
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent analytical ability
    • Strong report writing ability
    • Good communication abilities
    • Excellent MS Excel, Word, Visio skills
    • Good organisational and process disciplines
