Role Responsibilities:

We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter (Mechanical) to join our large-scale manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a flexible approach, capable of working within a cohesive team.

The selected candidate will be tasked with:

  • Conducting preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns throughout the facility
  • Participating in the design, installation, and relocation of machinery
  • Overhauling and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensuring all machinery is safe, operational, and suitable for use

Key Duties Include:

  • Supporting all operational areas, including machinery and services, to maintain continuous production
  • Repairing and servicing mechanical systems, including upgrades and retrofits
  • Ensuring safe operation of technologies and equipment
  • Rebuilding machinery and systems as part of ongoing development
  • Understanding hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • Managing breakdowns and recovery processes
  • Assisting with the relocation, installation, and commissioning of technology and equipment
  • Collaborating with other teams on relevant projects
  • Contributing to mechanical design and fabrication of machinery and testing equipment
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff
  • Working to precise tolerances

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of a fully indentured apprenticeship in a mechanical field
  • Experience in manufacturing technologies and machinery, including CNC processes
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with basic computer software and reporting systems
  • Positive attitude, effective communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
