Role Responsibilities:

We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter (Mechanical) to join our large-scale manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a flexible approach and the ability to work collaboratively within an established team.

The successful candidate will undertake preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, respond to emergency breakdowns, and participate in the design, installation, and relocation of machinery. Responsibilities also include overhauling and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Support various site operations, including machinery and service maintenance for uninterrupted functionality
  • Conduct repairs and servicing of mechanical systems, including upgrades and retrofits
  • Ensure safe operation of technologies and equipment
  • Rebuild and enhance machinery and systems as part of ongoing improvements
  • Possess knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • Manage breakdowns and recovery processes
  • Assist in the relocation, installation, and commissioning of technology and equipment
  • Collaborate with other teams on relevant projects
  • Contribute to mechanical design and fabrication of machinery and testing equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department supervision
  • Work to precise tolerances

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of a fully indentured apprenticeship in a mechanical field
  • Experience with manufacturing technologies, including CNC processes and site management
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Familiarity with basic computer software and reporting systems
  • Positive demeanor, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset
  • Prior experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to promote understanding and engagement
