Support and Accommodation Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support and Accommodation Officer to join our team at Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and accommodation services to individuals and families in need, working closely with our team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and effective support to individuals and families in interim accommodation, including advice, information, and assistance.
  • Work closely with our team to identify and secure suitable alternative accommodation for homeless households.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, housing providers, and other relevant agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of homelessness strategies and policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of support services.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a frontline homelessness service, with a working knowledge of homelessness legislation and good practice.
  • Minimum qualifications of 4 GCSEs Grade A-C or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
