Job Title: Support and Accommodation Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support and Accommodation Officer to join our team at Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and accommodation services to individuals and families in need, with a focus on homelessness prevention and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and effective support to individuals and families in interim accommodation, including advice, information, and assistance to help them secure suitable alternative accommodation.
  • Work closely with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to homelessness prevention and support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, housing providers, and voluntary sector organizations.
  • Conduct assessments and develop support plans to address the needs of individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade A-C or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing a frontline homelessness service and working knowledge of homelessness legislation and good practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
