Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support and Accommodation Officer to join our team at Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and accommodation services to individuals and families in need, working closely with our homelessness team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and effective support to individuals and families in interim accommodation, including advice, information, and assistance to help them secure suitable alternative accommodation.
  • Work closely with our homelessness team to develop and implement effective support plans, taking into account the individual's needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to homelessness prevention and support.
  • Conduct regular assessments and reviews to ensure that support plans are being implemented effectively and that individuals are making progress towards securing suitable accommodation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, housing providers, and other agencies, to ensure that support services are being delivered effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a frontline homelessness service, with a working knowledge of homelessness legislation and good practice.
  • Minimum qualifications of 4 GCSEs Grade A-C or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and duties.
