Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team at JAB Recruitment. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex infrastructure projects in the utilities sector.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing large portfolios of projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and commercial delivery. You will be a key member of our Gas Operations leadership team, working closely with our clients to deliver high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead integrated project teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage resources effectively to ensure cost-efficient delivery models.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support future tenders to ensure contract longevity.
  • Provide effective leadership and visibility to the programme of works.
  • Monitor and review commercial expectations and quality standards.
  • Act as a Health and Safety champion for the programme of works.
  • Drive sustainable reductions in delivery costs to achieve required efficiencies.
  • Ensure alignment with client vision through delivery of the contract.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and senior team members.
  • Deliver performance management models successfully.
  • Build a skilled and sustainable team to support programme delivery.
  • Contribute to the delivery vehicle strategy to ensure sustainable performance and secure contract extension.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider programme team.
  • Ensure suitable supply chain in place to support programme delivery.
Requirements
  • Previous experience at project management level in a similar environment is essential.
  • Proven experience of delivering large portfolios of projects, ideally to an annual value of up to £10M.
  • Knowledge of the Gas, construction, or utilities industry is essential.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities required.
  • Strong health and safety focus.
  • A knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering would be useful, though not essential.
