JAB Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead a complex infrastructure programme for a prominent Utilities Client based in the UK.
As a Project Director, you will be part of the Gas Operations leadership team responsible for delivering a high-value infrastructure programme for Cadent Gas Chelmsford project.
Reporting directly to the Operations Delivery Manager/Operations Director, the Project Director and their team will ensure the timely delivery, quality, HSE, and compliance with the client's established specifications and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the integrated project teams to safely deliver the portfolio of projects in line with contracts and frameworks.
- Effectively manage resources to ensure the most cost-effective model is deployed.
- Manage costs throughout the life cycle of each project.
- Support future tenders to ensure longevity of contracts.
- Provide effective and visible leadership for the programme of works.
- Monitor and review commercial expectations and quality standards.
- Act as the Health and Safety champion for the programme of works.
- Sustainably reduce delivery costs to bring the required efficiencies on the programme.
- Ensure alignment with the client's vision through delivery of the contract.
- Build and maintain relationships with the client and gas construction senior team.
- Deliver a successful performance management model.
- Build a skilled and sustainable team to support programme delivery.
- Contribute to the delivery vehicle strategy to ensure sustainable performance and secure contract extension.
- Communicate effectively with the wider programme team.
- Ensure a suitable supply chain is in place to support programme delivery.
Requirements:
- Previous experience at project management level in a similar environment is essential.
- You will be able to demonstrate your experience of delivering large portfolios of projects, ideally to an annual value of up to £10M.
- Knowledge of the Gas, construction, or utilities industry is essential.
- Outstanding leadership qualities are required.
- A strong health and safety focus is necessary.
- A knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering would be beneficial, though not essential.
