Senior Educational Support Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with educators and other support personnel to create and execute personalized support plans for students with unique needs.
  • Provide individualized and small group assistance to students, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and the development of essential life skills.
  • Support the creation and implementation of targeted interventions and programs aimed at enhancing students' emotional and mental well-being.
  • Assist in developing and producing educational resources and materials.
  • Evaluate student progress and offer constructive feedback to educators and SENCOs.
  • Oversee students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Contribute actively to the overall school community.

Senior Educational Support Assistant Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and certifications as a Teaching Assistant or a degree related to Education or Psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with special needs.
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience supporting students with diverse learning profiles.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Ability to adapt and collaborate effectively in a dynamic educational setting.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies for assisting students with SEN.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
