Teaching Assistant Opportunity in York

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a Good Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, working closely with the SENCO and class teachers to deliver tailored lesson plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support class teachers with lesson planning and delivery, adapting to the individual needs of students.
  • Build positive relationships with students, creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans, promoting student progress and achievement.
  • Support students with social and emotional development, encouraging participation in school activities and peer interactions.
  • Facilitate group discussions, guide group work, and assist with group projects, promoting collaborative learning.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Experience supporting students with special needs is preferred, but a willingness to learn and improve professionally is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Enhanced DBS registration or willingness to apply.
