Education Support Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated individual to support teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons to students with varying needs. The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young adults, and be able to build effective relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in planning and preparing teaching materials and resources.
- Support students with additional needs, including SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and MLD.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons to students requiring additional support.
- Supervise students during class activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to provide regular updates on student progress.
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, Diploma, or Qualification.
- Have at least 6 months experience in an educational setting.
- Be able to engage with young people and build effective relationships.
- Be confident in managing behaviour within a school setting.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
