Special Educational Needs Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Unity City Academy. As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff in the development and education of pupils with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with special educational needs, including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate.
- Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for pupils.
- Assist with the delivery of lessons and activities, ensuring that pupils with special educational needs are fully included and supported.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure that the needs of pupils with special educational needs are met.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to support pupils with special educational needs.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs.
- Maths and English at GCSE C or Level 2 functional skills is essential.
- A teaching assistant or SEN based qualification would be advantageous.
- Patience, compassion, and an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with pupils and staff.
