Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Careers Information and Guidance Specialist to join our team at MidKent College. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance to our students, ensuring they have access to the support they need to achieve their career goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide impartial and confidential advice and guidance to students, using a range of methods including one-to-one interviews, group sessions, and online support.
  • Work closely with other college staff, including curriculum teams and personal development tutors, to deliver effective group guidance and career development learning resources.
  • Develop and maintain effective links with local businesses, industry, and professional associations to provide students with valuable labour market information and career opportunities.
  • Support the development of our careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) provision, ensuring it is high-quality, relevant, and meets the needs of our students.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of careers events, activities, and resources, including the UCAS university application process.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong knowledge of careers education, information, advice, and guidance principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
