About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Career Guidance Specialist. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing expert guidance and support to young people in Brent, helping them to achieve their career goals and overcome barriers to education and employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert career guidance and support to young people, helping them to identify and pursue their career aspirations.
  • Work closely with vulnerable groups, including those at risk of NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), to provide tailored support and guidance.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support and progression.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and meet contractual KPIs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest educational and employment trends, ensuring that guidance and support are informed and effective.
Requirements
  • A level 6 IAG (Information, Advice, and Guidance) qualification or willingness to train towards this.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable groups, particularly those from statutory services (YOS/CLA/SEND).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people and their families.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Sound knowledge of the educational system, including the National Curriculum and vocational training options.
