MidKent College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Careers Guidance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality careers guidance and education to our students.
Main Responsibilities- Provide Impartial Guidance: Offer confidential and individualized advice and guidance to students, using a range of methods including pre-booked interviews, group sessions, and online support.
- Record and Report: Accurately record activities and complete student notes, ensuring that data collection and management systems are used effectively to inform reporting and evaluation.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other MidKent College staff, including the Personal Development Tutorial Team and curriculum staff, to deliver group guidance and contribute to the planning of career development learning resources and activities.
- Develop Industry Links: Establish and maintain effective relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and professional associations to provide students with valuable insights and labour market information.
- Stay Up-to-Date: Stay informed about new developments and legislation in the field of CIAG, ensuring that you provide high-quality guidance and advice to students and colleagues.
- Support Student Success: Assist students with work skills and preparation for job seeking, including job research, CV development, and interview practice.
- UCAS Support: Provide guidance and support to students undertaking the UCAS university application process.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
