Equifind is collaborating with a highly successful and rapidly expanding venture capital firm seeking to recruit a Commercial Fund Controller to join their dynamic team. The firm currently manages approximately $1.2 billion in assets under management (AUM) and is experiencing significant growth, with new hires being added across various departments.

Since its establishment, the firm has invested in a diverse range of sectors, including life sciences, technology, space technology, and climate technology, across Europe and the United States. With a streamlined team of just 15 professionals, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the founders and the investment team.

The primary objective of this role is to oversee all financial deliverables, which encompass the valuation of investments and portfolio companies, fund reporting, investment closing processes, and investor relations, while also contributing to the long-term growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with fund administrators to ensure the timely execution of daily fund activities and various holding structures, including the preparation of quarterly investor reports, accounts, partner statements, capital calls, and distribution notices.
  • Assist in the quarterly valuation process and participate in the Valuation Committee meetings.
  • Prepare for the portfolio review process by analyzing underlying investments and budgets in coordination with the Investment Team.
  • Work alongside Investor Relations to address investor inquiries regarding their holdings, performance, distributions, and other ad-hoc questions promptly.
  • Review regulatory filings and tax returns prepared by administrators and advisors.
  • Lead due diligence efforts on new investments, coordinating with legal teams, tax advisors, and the investment team.
  • Oversee and prepare valuations for portfolio companies.
  • Drive further fundraising initiatives, collaborating with internal and external legal teams to manage all related aspects.
  • Take the lead in creating, refining, and documenting processes that will support the firm's continued growth, ensuring scalable and efficient growth strategies.

Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Recent experience in a venture capital or private equity environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including analysis, reporting, and financial planning.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to interpret and convey complex financial concepts effectively.
