Your Role
The Investment Fund Control team is tasked with validating and reporting daily profit and loss to Portfolio Managers, ensuring accurate valuation of Fund portfolios, and reviewing and approving the Net Asset Values (NAVs) prepared by fund administrators. The team also plays a crucial role in the preparation and review of annual financial statements, regulatory compliance, investor communications, and fund governance.
Ongoing projects are prevalent both within the team and across the organization. Daily operations and project initiatives require close collaboration with portfolio managers, risk management, treasury, operations, quantitative analysts, IT, and compliance teams. The team is responsible for a diverse range of tradeable financial instruments, including securities, listed derivatives, and both cleared and non-cleared over-the-counter derivatives across various asset classes such as rates, foreign exchange, equities, credit, and commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate daily profit and loss statements for portfolio managers and funds.
- Ensure consistency between internal profit and loss and NAV records with those of the administrator.
- Review and validate NAVs, including independent price verification processes.
- Prepare and review annual financial statements for clients' fund entities.
- Assist in fulfilling clients' regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate closely with fund administrators, clients, and internal teams to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives and various project work.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Product Control and/or Fund Accounting within a hedge fund or asset management context.
- Comprehensive understanding of the NAV control environment and associated valuation challenges.
- Experience with price verification methodologies.
- Strong product knowledge in fixed income, particularly in interest rate derivatives.
- Proficient in Excel and its advanced functionalities.
