Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Fund Controller to assist us in managing our investment funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing quarterly fund financials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and preparing accounting technical papers.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze quarterly fund financials and reporting prepared by the team
- Ensure all fund accounting activities, including management fees, expenses, valuations, capital calls, and distributions, are in line with relevant GAAP standards
- Review investor reporting to ensure high standards are met
- Prepare all accounting technical papers where necessary
- Oversee the annual audit for the Funds
- Take responsibility for cash flow monitoring and the management of the Funds
- Review capital calls and distributions prepared by the team
- Prepare quarterly Board Packs for submission to the Board
- Support the Legal and Investor Relations team with managing investor transfers
- Work closely with external advisors and the Legal team on tax structuring for new investments, where necessary
- Support the Legal team on all other regulatory matters
- Monitor all regulatory developments that can impact the Fund
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with advisors, administrators, auditors, and tax advisors on all key matters
- Run any ad hoc projects as and when requested by senior management
Requirements
- Fully Qualified Accountant with 10+ years of experience and PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience of fund accounting within PE or VC is preferred
- Working knowledge of multiple GAAPs is beneficial
- Strong Excel and communication skills
- Experience of process improvement and documentation
- Ability to work independently and deliver reports in a timely manner
What We Offer
This exciting opportunity for a Fund Controller will pay between £100k-£140k, depending on your experience and background. We are looking for someone to join the team within the next few weeks, ideally, so no more than four weeks' notice will be considered for this opportunity.
