About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Learning Disability Nurse to join our Community Learning Disability Team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Learning Disability Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with severe learning disabilities and mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral and sleep assessments for children and young people with severe learning disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of each individual.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, care plans, and interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as required.
  • Travel across the Cheshire area as needed to provide timely support to clients.
  • Provide group workshops to parents and carers.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications, knowledge, and experience:

  • Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities).
  • Knowledge of learning disability and child-related policy.
  • Current best practice in learning disability nursing.
  • Knowledge about safeguarding children.
  • NHS policy and practice, health improvement, and public health agenda.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proven experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
