About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate, supportive team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust that values your skills, creativity, and dedication. As a Learning Disability Nurse - Behavioural and Sleep Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with severe learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioural and sleep assessments for children and young people with severe learning disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of each individual.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, care plans, and interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as required.
  • Travel across the region as needed to provide timely support to clients.
  • Provide group workshops to parents and carers.
Requirements
  • Essential: Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities)
  • Desirable: Mentorship, relevant degree, behaviour/mental health qualification
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Learning Disability and child-related policy, current best practice in learning disability nursing, knowledge about safeguarding children, NHS policy/practice, health improvement/public health agenda, excellent communicator - written and oral, proven, demonstrable experience of innovation and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Experience: Experience of working with people with a learning disability
