Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Phototherapist / Phototherapy Nurse in the Dermatology department at Leighton Hospital.
About the Role: As a Phototherapist / Phototherapy Nurse, you will work alongside our experienced phototherapist to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing phototherapy treatment. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as recording treatment plans and cumulative doses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their suitability for phototherapy treatment, and develop individualized care plans to meet their needs.
- Treatment Implementation: Administer phototherapy treatments to patients, ensuring that departmental protocols and guidelines are met at all times.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record patient treatment plans, cumulative doses, and adverse events, and provide written summaries to referring clinicians.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the dermatology team to ensure the completion of appropriate dermatology pathways, and provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must be a registered nurse or physiotherapist with a strong interest in phototherapy. You will be supported to learn and develop the required skills and knowledge needed to excel in this position.
