Senior Student Retention Officer

Role Purpose:

The Senior Student Retention Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the success of students at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. This involves working closely with the Head of Student Retention, Retention Managers, Student Success Tutors, and academic staff to re-engage students in their studies and support their progress.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work with allocated learners as a key point of contact for day-to-day activities.
  • Monitor the performance of assigned Student Success Tutors (SSTs) and ensure they are meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate absence of annual leave for SST team members and ensure transcripts are up-to-date within allocated cohorts.
  • Provide weekly reports to Senior ROs, including daily attendance checks, identification of risk groups, and action taken to improve attendance.
  • Ensure WD are counter-checked by SRO before being sent to RM.
  • Verify information on Thesis for weeks one to four, including comments and dates.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level or equivalent, with knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
  • Previous experience working with students in higher education, specifically with mature students.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt messages for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, work collaboratively in a team, and build positive relationships with students.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
