About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Histopathologist to join our team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert histopathological diagnosis and reporting for a wide range of specimens, including biopsies, resections, and cytology samples.
  • Develop and implement new diagnostic techniques and protocols to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including clinicians and scientists, to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as continuing professional development for healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.

Person Specification
  • FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a License to Practice.
  • On GMC specialist register or within 6 months of interview date.
  • MD or PhD.
  • Diploma in Cytopathology.
