Your Role:

This position offers an exciting opportunity within a vibrant team, where you will engage with a diverse range of clients in audit and financial reporting.

As a client-facing role, it demands exceptional communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to cultivate enduring professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

You will oversee deadlines, address technical accounting and audit inquiries, and review the contributions of team members.

Your involvement will be crucial in managing, planning, and executing fieldwork for audit and financial reporting projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively plan assignments, ensuring the allocation of appropriate resources, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee the execution of assignments, ensuring they progress smoothly, adhere to timelines, and remain within budget, while addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Delegate tasks to team members, fostering their development through support and mentorship.
  • Assist in the completion of trainee files and facilitate their professional growth through regular feedback and workload management.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients to manage expectations and introduce team members involved in assignments.
  • Review team outputs to ensure compliance with firm procedures and readiness for director review.
  • Complete all sections of audit files for review and sign-off.
  • Prepare technical assessments regarding accounting, audit, and tax treatments based on applicable legislation and standards.
  • Compile complex financial statements and business tax computations for director review.
  • Participate in specific projects as needed, including budgeting and due diligence.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to ensure timely advice and support.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Promote best practices across the firm through training and effective communication.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Develop specialized knowledge through relevant continuing professional development.
  • Adhere to regulatory, legal, professional, and ethical standards in all engagements.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Resourcefulness in resolving issues and identifying opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, presenting information clearly.
  • Capability to coach and train team members.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role within a professional services environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • ACCA/ACA/CA qualified, with a preference for first-time passes.
  • Familiarity with IRIS is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and relevant tax legislation.
  • Experience with audits in the SME sector.
