Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Obstetrics and Gynaecology service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical and academic programs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in obstetrics and gynaecology, with experience in managing complex cases and leading multidisciplinary teams. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our team of 27 consultants, based across York and Scarborough, to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
The role will involve undertaking general obstetrics and gynaecology duties, including covering acute maternity sessions, caesarean section lists, antenatal clinics, gynaecology outpatients, gynaecology operating lists, and emergency gynaecology. You will also have opportunities to develop your specialist skills and interests in areas such as maternal medicine, particularly in the care of pregnant diabetic women.

Person Specification
- Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC, registered to practice, O&G Specialist registration
- Registered and holds a license to practise with the General Medical Council
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research
- Substantive NHS experience
- ASTM training in Maternal medicine
