Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the education and development of junior staff and medical students.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake general Obstetrics and Gynaecology roles, including covering acute maternity sessions, caesarean section lists, antenatal clinics, gynaecology outpatients, gynaecology operating lists, and emergency gynaecology.
- Develop individual specialist skills areas to complement those available in the department, with opportunities for cross-site working.
- Contribute to the education and development of junior staff and medical students, including teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates.
- Participate in clinical governance and contribute to the development of clinical decision units.

Person Specification- Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC, registered to practice, O&G Specialist registration.
- Registered and holds a license to practise with the General Medical Council.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research.
- Substantive NHS experience.
- ASTM training in Maternal medicine.
