Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Asset Management Specialist to enhance our team in the Plymouth area. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary ranging from £25,841 to £29,000 per annum, aligned with our company progression scheme, along with standby and overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the performance of Drinking Water Services assets through consistent data collection, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Assist in designing and implementing planned maintenance programs and capital enhancements across the DWS Network asset portfolio.
  • Identify and advocate for improvements to ensure the water supply network operates reliably and efficiently, meeting customer expectations in line with business objectives.
  • Monitor asset maintenance plans and pinpoint areas requiring enhancements or investments, preparing necessary funding applications.
  • Prioritize health and safety, ensuring all asset-related tasks are executed safely, adhering to health and safety policies and standards.
  • Guarantee resource availability to facilitate the successful delivery of asset initiatives.
  • Supervise Network Maintenance technicians, organizing daily work schedules and providing updates on project progress to the Network Asset Manager.
  • Maintain corporate records related to various operational programs.
  • Complete detailed RAMS documents for network activities, including repairs and installations.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to ensure adequate field staff levels to meet operational demands.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and minimize disruption during operational activities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure minimal impact during project execution.
  • Support the achievement of all ODI targets through effective resource management.
  • Coordinate with the Network Asset Manager to organize resources and operational methods to meet desired outcomes.
  • Share best practices and insights with other managers and technical experts within the company.
  • Work with various teams to develop a work program that aligns with the company's strategic maintenance objectives.
  • Provide essential support to the Drinking Water Services function during emergencies.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers, public authorities, and colleagues.
  • Act as a deputy for the Network Asset Manager when required.
  • Perform additional reasonable tasks as needed to support DWS and the company's vision.
  • Participate in DWS Network standby duties as defined.
  • Aim to achieve top progression within the DWS N&CS scheme and associated qualifications.

Qualifications:
  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent in Maths, English, and a Science subject; or IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications (or the ability to obtain them).
  • Relevant experience in water distribution operations and management.
  • Technical knowledge of water network operations, maintenance, and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office and corporate platforms.
  • Surveying skills to assess street work requirements and asset improvements.
  • Ability to interpret complex information through map and plan reading.
  • Resilience and adaptability to change, with the capacity to prioritize effectively.
  • Full UK Driver's License.
