Role Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Asset Management Technician to become a vital part of our team. This position is a full-time, permanent role based in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of Drinking Water Services assets through systematic data collection, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of planned maintenance initiatives and capital enhancements across the DWS Network asset framework.
  • Identify and advocate for enhancements to ensure the water supply network operates reliably and efficiently, aligning with our business objectives.
  • Ensure all asset-related activities are conducted safely, prioritizing health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Supervise Network Maintenance technicians, coordinating daily tasks and maintaining communication with the Network Asset Manager regarding work progress.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to asset management and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to manage field staff levels effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including the New Roads and Streetworks Act and Traffic Management Act.
  • Engage with stakeholders to minimize disruption during project execution.
  • Support the achievement of all operational delivery indicators through effective resource management.
  • Work closely with the Network Asset Manager to organize resources and coordinate efforts to meet operational goals.
  • Share best practices and insights with other managers and technical experts within the organization.
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop a work program that fulfills strategic revenue and capital maintenance objectives.
  • Provide essential support to the Drinking Water Services function during emergencies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, public authorities, and colleagues.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the DWS and company vision.
  • Participate in on-call duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent in Maths, English, and a Science subject; or IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications (or the ability to obtain).
  • Relevant experience in water distribution operations and management.
  • Technical knowledge of water network operations, maintenance, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office and corporate platforms.
  • Surveying skills for assessing street work requirements and asset improvements.
  • Ability to interpret complex information through map and plan reading.
  • Resilience and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Full UK Driver's License.
